About ResinMetrics

ResinMetrics is a free tool for understanding the economics of resin 3D printing.

A slicer is excellent at estimating resin usage and print time. It does not tell you what a finished, sellable model really costs after failed attempts, machine wear, consumables, labour, packaging and selling fees. ResinMetrics exists to make that calculation fast and understandable.

Who it is for

It is designed for hobbyists who want to understand the cost of a plate, makers deciding what to charge, and small print sellers testing whether a product is actually profitable.

How we approach recommendations

ResinMetrics may eventually use affiliate links to relevant printers, resins and consumables. If we do, affiliate relationships will be disclosed. We will not label a product as better merely because a merchant pays commission.

Accuracy

Results are estimates. Resin prices, electricity, failure rates, screen life, labour and marketplace terms vary substantially. The calculator deliberately keeps the assumptions editable so you can model your own setup.
