What does each resin miniature really cost?

Why cost per miniature is more than bottle price
The material inside a miniature is only one part of its cost. Supports consume extra resin, and failed plates consume material, electricity, machine life and consumables without producing finished models. This calculator spreads the expected cost of those attempts across the successful miniatures.
What should you enter for resin volume?
Use the model-only volume reported by your slicer if it is available, then add a realistic support percentage. If your slicer already includes supports in its resin estimate, enter that total as model resin and set the support allowance to 0%.
How is the failure rate applied?
A 10% failure rate means each successful plate requires 1 ÷ 0.9, or about 1.11 attempts on average. The calculator applies this to the whole attempted-plate cost, because a failed plate still consumes electricity, machine time and consumables as well as resin.
