How much resin do you need?
Turn a slicer estimate into a practical buying plan for a batch of resin prints. Include failed plates, handling waste and your actual bottle size.

How to estimate resin for a batch
Slice the actual plate you intend to print, with its supports, then enter the slicer's resin usage above. Divide your target quantity by models per plate and round up to whole successful plates. An allowance for failed plates increases the planned number of attempts; the extra resin percentage covers material your slicer estimate may not capture.
If your slicer reports grams, the calculator divides by your resin's density in grams per millilitre. Density varies by formulation, so use the product data or a measured value. What the estimate does and does not cover
The failure assumption treats a failed plate as consuming the entered whole-plate amount. Some failures stop earlier, while others waste nearly a full plate. The result is an allowance for planning purchases, not a probability that a particular quantity will be completed. Resin left in a clean vat may still be usable; material trapped in supports or lost in cleanup is not.

Common questions
Should I add supports separately?
Check whether the slicer estimate already includes the supports on your plate. If it does, do not add them again. If it does not, use the extra resin allowance or enter a measured whole-plate amount.
Is the bottle count a guarantee?
No. It rounds the expected material requirement up to whole bottles. Variability in failures, print geometry and handling can change actual usage; leave an additional buffer if running short would interrupt a deadline.
